Use Elements to store reusable production context so prompts stay consistent across scenes and sessions.
What Elements Are For
Elements are records for the people, places, objects, visual rules, and reusable production images in a project. They help Studio include the right context without forcing you to retype the same details in every prompt.
Elements are optional. They become more useful once a project has recurring characters, locations, props, or visual style rules.
Cast
Use Cast for characters and people.
Good cast records include:
- A consistent name.
- Short visual description.
- Clothing or distinctive features.
- Speaking style when relevant.
- Voice profile assignment when the audio provider has voices available.
Keep cast descriptions practical. Prompt-ready visual details help more than long biography.
Locations
Use Locations for settings and environments.
Include the visible qualities a model needs: space, lighting, materials, mood, time of day, and any recurring details.
Props
Use Props for important recurring objects.
Create a prop when the same object needs to remain recognizable across scenes. For one-off visuals, use the asset shelf or image references instead.
Style
Use Style for visual language and production rules.
A style record can include palette, lighting, camera feel, composition, era references, or constraints that should travel across multiple generations.
Visual Assets
Visual Assets are image-backed Elements records. Examples include:
- Logo bugs and brand marks.
- Product cutouts.
- Frame overlays.
- Callouts.
- Reference boards and style plates.
Visual Assets are production context. They can be linked to Scene Cards and used as references when the selected model supports image inputs.
Visual Assets vs. Image Overlays
Visual Assets live in Elements. Image Overlays live in Effects.
Use a Visual Asset when the image should guide generation or stay attached to a scene. Use an Image Overlay when the image should visibly appear on top of the timeline video.
Eligible image-backed Visual Assets can appear in Effects > Image Overlays when the project has an active timeline. If an item does not appear there, confirm that its source is an image and use it as production context from Elements instead.
Include Context Deliberately
Generate has explicit context controls for selected production context, such as Character Context, Location Context, and scene context. Selecting a scene can load its prompt, bindings, and references into Generate.
Use context when it improves consistency. Remove context when it makes a prompt too long or unfocused.
Tips
- Write Elements so they can be reused directly in prompts.
- Link only the context that matters to the scene.
- Use Style records for project-wide visual consistency.
- Use Visual Assets for production images that need to stay connected to scenes.
