Plan a scene, attach production context, generate takes, and move the best take to the timeline.
What a Scene Card Is
A Scene Card is a reusable planning record for one moment in a project. It can hold the scene's prompt, script, visual direction, camera notes, audio notes, linked cast, location, props, style, visual assets, and generated takes.
Scene Cards live under Elements > Scene.
Create a Scene Card
- Open Elements in the right rail.
- Choose Scene.
- Add a new scene card.
- Name it clearly, such as
Opening Title,Product Reveal, orClosing Shot. - Fill in only the fields that help the generation.
Useful fields include:
- Beat for the story moment.
- Script / Dialogue for spoken words.
- Shot Description for what the camera sees.
- Camera Motion for how the shot moves.
- Visual Prompt for image or video generation.
- Audio Prompt for voice, ambience, or sound effects.
- Notes for production reminders.
Link Production Context
Attach only the Elements that matter to the scene:
- Cast members.
- Locations.
- Props.
- Style records.
- Image-backed visual assets.
When you generate from a scene, Studio can include selected scene context, prompt bindings, and references in the provider request.
Scene Order
Scene Cards support stored ordering. Studio keeps a scene position value and can normalize positions, so scenes can be presented in manual storyboard order instead of relying only on alphabetical or creation order.
Use clear names and keep the storyboard sequence tidy as the project grows.
Generate From a Scene
Use Generate from Scene to create a take from the scene's saved prompt, settings, bindings, and selected references.
Generated takes appear on the Scene Card and in the asset shelf. The take remains connected to the scene and its provider job history.
Review Takes
Scene Cards make it easier to compare multiple attempts for the same moment. Preview takes, rename strong results, and select the one that should move forward.
When ready, use Add Selected Take to Timeline to place the chosen take at the current playhead position.
Contact Sheets
If a project has Scene Cards, Studio can export a local HTML storyboard contact sheet into Exports/Review inside the project package.
Use contact sheets before review sessions when you want a quick outside-the-app view of scenes and takes.
Watch Out For
- Scene Cards save planning context, not the final edit.
- Generated takes remain separate assets.
- Extra context can dilute a prompt. Link only what the scene actually needs.
- Deleting a scene card should not be treated as the same thing as deleting all generated media.
