Render your edited timeline as an MP4 video file.
Start an Export
- Check that the timeline contains the clips you want to render.
- Choose Project > Export Timeline....
- Studio opens an Export MP4 save panel.
- Name the file.
- Click Export.
Studio renders the timeline in the background. Keep the app open while export runs.
Export Presets
The left rail includes MP4 export presets:
- Default MP4
- Vertical 9:16 MP4
- Square 1:1 MP4
- Portrait 4:5 MP4
- Source matched MP4
These presets set the timeline canvas or export target before exporting. Studio's current export flow is MP4-oriented rather than a general multi-format export dialog.
Export Progress
Export progress appears in workspace activity surfaces:
- The Activity drawer can show Exporting with a percentage complete.
- History can show an export row with a progress bar and text such as
NN% complete - writing MP4 to the chosen save location.
If you need to stop an active render, choose Project > Cancel Export.
Export Preflight
Before rendering, Studio checks the timeline for problems:
- Missing or unreadable media.
- Same-lane overlaps.
- Tiny boundary slivers.
- Generated companion audio that needs to be capped to video duration.
If export fails, read the message and fix the specific timeline issue before retrying.
Captions
When C1 captions exist, Studio can export:
- Burn-in Only
- Burn-in + SRT + WebVTT
- No Captions
Caption sidecar files are written beside the MP4 when selected.
Where Files Go
The MP4 is written to the folder you choose in the save panel. Studio renders through a temporary location first, then moves the completed file into place.
Choose Desktop or Documents first if you are unsure whether a destination is writable.
Watch Out For
- Same-lane overlaps are hard export failures.
- Export reads the whole timeline, not only the visible portion.
- External drives and network locations can fail if they are unavailable or not writable.
